1. What are Trust’s Objectives?

Promote Education to poor needy, underprivileged students in the society and bring to main stream by making them self dependent.

2. What is the selection criteria?

The selection process adapted shall be based on humanitarian / compassionate grounds (combining the economical status and merit rather than Merit ONLY) to encourage children facing harsh times at this young age of their lives and who may possibly discontinue their studies in worst scenario. Selection is solely at Trust’s discretion.

Trust will approach various Government and aided colleges and request them to provide details of the students who are economically poor, meeting the Trust’s criteria.
Asraya team then will get in touch with the student / parents to assess the ground reality. On completion of the assessment a final decision shall be taken. Selection shall be solely at the Trust’s discretion. We would like to make mention that only students from Government Colleges and Aided Colleges shall only be considered.

Asraya would like to support all the needy students irrespective of the place they originate from as we would like to help all those who are in need. We currently have “Support to Settle” Program in which a donor can support a student continuously till the student completes his studies. Donor shall have a commitment of minimum 3 years.

9. Does it mean a commitment till the student completes his / her studies irrespective of Donor’s condition?

No - We understand that the support from the Donor entirely depends on the financial status. In an extreme case where Donor would like to revert his decision, we respect his decision. However, we request the Donor to give us ample notice so that we can find alternative resources for the student affected.

10. Does the Student have the knowledge of the Donor who is supporting?

No - We support many students and the beneficiary is one among them. All the beneficiaries are equal as far as Asraya is concerned and we would like to support all of them. We would like to create a secured atmosphere to all the beneficiaries rather creating a secured feeling to one.

As mentioned above we would like to avoid any situation to the Donor where in if he fails to assist the student. However at the end of the education the student will be informed the details of the Donor. By doing so we would like to create the feel that there are people who do care for the society.
